Solo swims of Flathead Lake, Montana

Michael Johmann of Louisville, Kentucky recently completed the third documented, unassisted solo swim of the 44.5 km length of Flathead Lake, Montana – the largest freshwater lake in the western United States. Documentation by observer John Fischbach is now published on the MSF Documented Swims site:

The first two documented, unassisted Flathead Lake length crossings were completed by Sarah Thomas and Craig Lenning on July 3, 2015. These swims were also ratified by MSF.

There have been several other claimed Flathead Lake swims. However, these are not officially documented and/or were assisted by wetsuits.
