Anthony McCarley on the Leme-Pontal swim near Rio de Janeiro

Marathon swimmer Anthony McCarley stars in a new documentary film – RIO – portraying the 60-year old’s attempt to become the first North American to complete two major swims of South America, the Travessia do Leme ao Pontal (near Rio de Janeiro) and the Cruce Rio de la Plata (near Buenos Aires, Argentina). Produced by Lucas Rivet and with stunning cinematography by Pablo Perez Fiedler and Diego Alejandro Suárez, RIO is brutally realistic and emotionally honest – a worthy addition to the genre.
