Kamil Resa Alsaran of Turkey swam the Bristol Channel two days ago – 25.7 km from Glenthorne (England) to Porthcawl (Wales). In doing so, he became only the third person to complete the so-called “Original Triple Crown” – a trio of U.K. swims including the English, Bristol, and North Channels. Only Kevin Murphy (1971) and Ted Keenan (1975) had done it previously.
