Neil Agius cleared the water to cheering onlookers at St. Julian’s Bay Waterpolo & Aquatic Club on Malta this morning, completing an unprecedented swim between Sicily and Malta. Agius, who swam for Malta in the 2004 Olympics, started from Punta Braccetto, Sicily at 0515 yesterday, covering the 100km minimum straight-line route in 28 hours, 9 minutes (unofficial time, pending ratification).
